... and the Army Goes Rolling Along

.
Dear Readers,

If any of you have ever wondered what it was like for me to be an Army Bandsman here's a video that tells the whole story.

I went straight to the 97th Army Band at Ft. Sill, OK after Basic Training, skipping the training seen in the video that was given to new recruits at the U.S. Army Element, Naval School of Music, Little Creek, VA.  I did however take advanced courses there later on in my career while a Senior NCO.

When the theme shifts to Army Bands overseas, lo-and-behold and what do you know, there's The Editor playing 1st clarinet with the 76th Army Band at a concert in front of the Dom St. Peter in Worms Germany.

The year was 1971.

I had a great career as a military musician.

I'm proud to have served.

I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.
